{ About }

 Pete & Sam's for me is like going home. Sammy and Michael I knew as babies and watched to grow up to be fine men. Sam & Vita raised me as a young man to appreciate the finer things in life, and what good food is about. Paul Bomarito held all of us together and was the master chef and teacher. Frank Gattuso is my good friend and always a perfect host at the restaurant. The wonderful smell when you come in the door tells it all.

Sam’s story began in 1948 shortly after he was discharged from the Army Air Corps. He returned home to Memphis, Tennessee where he and his cousin Pete Romeo shared an idea.  Sam used his experience at his Uncle’s eatery in Osceola, Arkansas and his love of watching his mother prepare meals as a young boy and opened his first restaurant. Pete got out of the business after 6 short months, but Sam didn’t have the money to change the name on the sign. So the name stuck and the rest is history.

We have been cooking up recipes that have been passed down from generation to generation. Our menu includes traditional Italian favorites like lasagna, spaghetti, thin crust pizzas, and our famous Italian spinach. We also offer a variety of traditional American favorites including chicken, steaks, and seafood. Our BBQ pizza is a Memphis favorite as featured on the Food Network.

We have a large party room available to accommodate rehearsal dinners, birthday parties, or business meetings.  From the casual atmosphere to the family experience come see why Pete and Sam’s Famous Italian restaurant has been serving families for over 6 decades!
